Full Description

<1> Peak District National Park Archaeology Service, 2003, Blaze Farm Archaeological Field Survey for the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark Scheme, p.5-6 (Client Report). SCH8567.

‘…Hollow-way leading from the direction of Underbank Farm to Blaze Farm. The channel of the hollow-way is wide and amorphous suggesting either that the hollow-way was created in a natural stream gully or that after its use it became a stream channel. This hollow-way was either created by heavy use in the post-medieval period or by prolonged use from the medieval period.

The hollow-way is up to 3m deep and 4m to 5m wide. The route is marked on available maps from 1842, the date of the earliest available map of the area [see 2]…’
