Full Description

<1> Peak District National Park Archaeology Service, 2003, Blaze Farm Archaeological Field Survey for the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark Scheme, p.3 (Client Report). SCH8567.

Sandstone quarry pit, up to 3m deep, presumably dug for building stone. To the west is a spoil heap up to 2m high. A hollow-way 0.4m deep and up to 2m wide leads from the quarry pit towards the Buxton to Congleton Turnpike (A54). Probably post medieval.

Depicts a small quarry with access track. Labelled Old Quarry.

Depicts a second quarry to the south of the old quarry depicted on (2).
