Building record 14330 - 317, Upton Lane, Widnes, Nineteenth Century House

The property was built during the late nineteenth century (1867–1893) and comprised a two story house with a rear outbuilding. The property was first depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1893 (see 2) and despite the extensive residential development which occurred along Upton Lane during the mid-twentieth century, the property appeared to have remain relatively unaltered.

The house was a two-storey rectangular structure orientated northeast to southwest and measuring 9.26m in length by 6.45m in width. It had a double-pitched roof of slate roofing tiles and blue ceramic ridge tiles. The walls were all of pebble-dashed stone façade. The outbuilding was a single storey building which shares the same orientation as the house. The building was 11.57m long and 5.14m wide. It also had a double pitch roof with modern slates and ridge tiles. The walls were comprised of sandstone rubble bonded by mortar.
