An environmental statement produced in 2016 for the proposed route of the Poynton Relief Road identified the site of a post medieval homestead on Ordnance Survey First Edition mapping, 1872-82, (source 2). One building is depicted within a small plot of land and is labelled 'Bowerstumps'. Both building and plot have disappeared by 1896-8, the date of the Second Edition map (source 3).
