Summary

The Tithe map for Bunbury, circa 1842, depicts a building and plots of land to the west of Harthill Road. The accompanying apportionment records the following information: Plot 43, 'House, Garden, Croft', owned by Thomas Crallan and occupied by Moses Elson. The Ordnance Survey First Edition map of 1872-82, also the later second and third editions, depict this building with another attached at right angles to the first at its southern end. The buildings are still present on air photographs dating to the 1940s, but have disappeared by the 1970s. It is possible that there may be below-ground remains of the homestead still in situe.

The Tithe map for Bunbury, circa 1842 (source 1), depicts a building and plots of land to the west of Harthill Road. The accompanying apportionment records the following information: Plot 43, 'House, Garden, Croft', owned by Thomas Crallan and occupied by Moses Elson. The Ordnance Survey First Edition map of 1872-82 (source 2), also the later second and third editions (source 3 and 4), depict this building with another attached at right angles to the first at its southern end.
