Summary

The Tithe map for Bunbury, circa 1842, depicts a pair of cottages and two plots of land to the north of Burwardsley Road and west of Falcon House. The accompanying apportionment records the following information: Plot 107, 'Cottage and Garden', owned by Thomas Lightfoot and occupied by John Bowker, and Plot 117, 'Cottage and Garden', owned by John Lightfoot and occupied by William Warburton. The cottages and plots are also depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1872-82, but the cottages have disappeared 1896-98, the date of OS Second Edition mapping. It is possible that there may be below-ground remains of the cottages still in situe.
