Summary

The Tithe map for Broxton, circa 1840, depicts a building, two plots and a water-filled marl pit to the north of The Mount. The accompanying apportionment records the following information: Plot 268, 'Cottage And Garden', owned by John Done and occupied by James Chesworth; Plot 269, 'Cottage And Garden', owned by John Done and occupied by William Webster. The properties are also depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1872-82, with ancilliary buildings and paths. The properties are similarly depicted on OS Second (1896-98) and Third Edition (1909-12) maps. Air photographs dating to the 1940s show that the buildings no longer exist, although some grass-covered foundations are visible.
