The Tithe map for Broxton, circa 1840 (source 1), depicts a building, two plots and a water-filled marl pit to the north of The Mount. The accompanying apportionment records the following information: Plot 268, 'Cottage And Garden', owned by John Done and occupied by James Chesworth; Plot 269, 'Cottage And Garden', owned by John Done and occupied by William Webster. The properties are also depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1872-82 (source 2), with ancilliary buildings and paths. They are similarly depicted on OS Second, 1896-98 (source 3), and Third Edition, 1909-12 (source 4), maps. Air photographs dating to the 1940s (source 5) show that the buildings no longer exist, although some grass-covered foundations are visible.
