The Tithe map for Broxton, circa 1840, depicts three buildings within a group of small plots to the west of Barnhill Farm. The accompanying apportionment records the following names for plots 472 to 474: 'Croft'; 'Cottage, Buildings and Garden'; and 'Garden'. The owner of the plots is Mary Singleton and the occupier Sarah Jones. The buildings are no longer depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of 1872-82, although some of the boundaries to the plots are, in part, still visible. All features have disappeared by 1896-98, the date of the OS Second Edition map (source 3).
