The Tithe map for Higher Whitley township of 1842 (source 1) depicts a plot containing two buildings to the south of Spring View Cottage. The apportionment records the plot name as 'House Outbuildings and Garden', owned by E.Townsend and Richard Woodward and occupied by Thomas Allen. The house is still present on Ordnance Survey First Edition mapping of 1872-82 (source 2), although the outbuilding is not depicted, but neither building appears on Second Edition mapping of 1896-98 (source 3).
