The remains of a brick-line well , a single pit feature , and a series of postholes forming a linear fence line were encountered during excavation at Gorsestacks in 2015/16 along with trenches containing salt-glazed drainage pipes. These remains probably relate to buildings located on the north side of George Street shown on maps dating to between the 1830s and 1960s. Most physical traces of these buildings had been obliterated during demolition.
