The hall is set in the remains of an early landscape park designed by Frances Richardson in 1758. A plan survives in Lancashire Record Office.

Hale Hall has a parkland design of 1758. Francis Richardson did the design which shows the park overlooking the Mersey. It is unclear whether this design was carried out.

This map depicts the park. Also two walled gardens, with associated buildings and glass houses, to the west of the hall.
