Full Description
<1> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.
A farmstead is depicted on the Tithe Map, circa 1839, for Newbold Astbury, to the north of Lesser Reeves Farm. The plot, plot 40, is labelled 'Homestead and Garden' in the accompanying apportionment and the owner recorded as William Taylor and the occupier John Turnock. Four buildings form the complex, the main house with another building abutted to the south, this is now the site of 'Clovercroft' on modern mapping. Two further buildings lie on the boundaries of the plot just to the north-west and appear likely to be agricultural buildings or barns.
<2> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
None of the buildings are shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Map, 1872-1882.
