Summary

The original site of Hame Farm before it was rebuilt in the early twentieth century. The farmstead comprised a farmhouse, a combination farmbuilding and other smaller structures such as pigsties. It takes it's name from the reputed Lord of Lostock, Hame, who was killed at the battle of Nantwich in 1069. The farmstead may have medieval origins.

This map depicts two buildings at this location. The award describes the plot as 'house, building, etc.'.

Hame, the reputed eleventh century lord of Lostock (see 3).

'...it appears, from the deposition of John de Holford, Oct. I, 1386, with reference to the celebrated Grosvenor cause, that Lostock belonged to one 'Hame', who was slain at the battle of Nantwich…'

This map depicts a long range comprising two to three buildings and with various extensions or additions on the western side. To the west are two further buildings, one of which may be pigsties. To the immediate south is a further building, presumably the farmhouse, and an orchard.

The buildings are no longer extant. A new farm has been built to the north-west.
