As part of the 'Ridge, Rocks and Springs Project', panels of grafitti in the form of initials, were recorded by scale drawing and photographs in 2016. They had been carved into the natural sandstone cliff faces at Urchin's Kitchen and are probably of post medieval date, although finds of medieval pottery may indicate an earlier origin for some. The grafitti, together with finds of medieval and post medieval pottery and clay tobacco pipes, potentially attest to the use of this landscape feature as a navigation route and a place of shelter.
