Historic photographs show the entrance to an underground public toilet. The steps, which faced north, were surrounded by railings and a small pyramid roofed building was located at the northern end. Historic maps (see (2)) and photographs (see (1)) indicate that the toilets were built after 1911 and had been demolished by the 1960s.
