Full Description
<1> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 386/2, c.1838 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.
Four farm buildings are depicted on the Tattenhall tithe map of 1838. One L shaped building is very long at c.55m. This may be a barn or some form of combination farm building. The award these plots (which include the hall) as 'house, building, yard, garden etc.' and 'croft and stackyard'.
<2> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ4858, 1875 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
All the buildings have been demolished.
<3> Various, Various, Oral communication to the HER, Edwards R, 08/08/2017 (Oral Communication). SCH2330.
These buildings were probably replaced with those of the model farm to the immediate south of the hall. The hay barn is dated 1858 which suggests a date for their demolition (see 4).
