Full Description
<1> Bluesky International Ltd, 2010, 2010 Bluesky Survey (Aerial Photograph). SCH5444.
Three sub-circular depressions or pits are visible on a slight promontory on the hillside behind Higher Kinderfields. They cut through some narrow ridge and furrow.
<2> Environment Agency, 2003-2020, Environment Agency LiDAR Surveys, 1m DSM (composite) (Digital Archive). SCH7819.
The pits appear near circular and are arranged in a clover leaf pattern.

These may be small extraction pits, though the cloverleaf arrangement of three circular features is a characteristic feature of Second World War searchlight batteries.
