Trial trenches excavated in 2017 at Volunteer Street identified a fill deposit contained within a probable pit feature which produced a ceramic-rich finds assemblage including a minimum of 44 pottery vessels, and 62 fragments of clay tobacco pipe. The assemblage suggests the deposition of domestic or possible tavern/inn-related refuse, deposited c. 1690–1720.
