Rectangular brick kiln marked on OS 1st edition map.

Rectangular structure no longer shown and not marked as brick kiln
<3> Shercliff W H, Kitching D A & Ryan J M, 1983, Poynton, A Coalmining Village (Monograph). SCH2683.
Poynton Colliery reports refer to a kiln at Lower Park farm in the 1840's. Possibly a Scotch rectangular kiln. Not shown on later maps but larger scale brickworks established close to Poynton rail station.
