Cast lead-alloy spindle whorl, dating from the medieval period (AD 1200-1500). The whorl is biconical in shape with moulded decoration on both sides. On one side the decoration is clearly in the form of a zig-zag line and dots. The other side has been damaged, and the decoration is less clearly defined and appears to be slightly different. The central perforation has an internal diameter of 9.2mm. Diameter: 225.46mm; thickness: 6.98mm; weight: 17.75g.
