The 1848 tithe map for the township depicts three buildings at this location. One of the buildings is significantly smaller than the other two. The award records this plot as house, outbuildings, yard and garden.
<2> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ7877, 1876-1877 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.
None of the features depicted on the c.1848 tithe map are depicted on this map, suggesting demolition.
<3> Various, Various, Oral communication to the HER, Edwards R, 05/05/2017 (Oral Communication). SCH2330.
The discovery of a fifteenth century spoon (see CHER 2840) on or near this site suggests a possible medieval date of origin for the farmstead.
