<1> University of Manchester Archaeological Unit, 1996, Further Proposed Extension to Mere Farm Quarry, Chelford: An Archaeological Assessment (Client Report). SCH4094.
Archaeological desk-based assessment, supplemented with a walkover survey, for a proposed extension to Mere Farm Quarry, Chelford amounting to 9 acres of land additional to that already assessed in April 1996. Little archaeology of significance was recorded but included a post medieval potential gravel pit, now a pond, west of Swiss Cottage. Shown on Bryant's map of Cheshire of 1831 and the 1842 tithe map.
