Summary

This seafront shelter was built sometime between 1907 and 1927 and is raised up on stilts to carry it over the lower promenade. It would have originally proved a comfortable vantage point for the estuary and the Runcorn-Widnes transporter bridge.

This seafront shelter is raised up on stilts to carry it over a lower promenade. Historic maps indicate that it was built sometime between 1907 and 1927, although it has been suggested that the shelter was an original part of the promenade which opened in 1903.
