Private gardens and pleasure grounds to Park Place covering an area of 6.5 hectares. The grounds were laid out by Edward Kemp in 1855. In 1933 part of the grounds were donated to Runcorn Rural District Council to be used as a public park. The park was opened to the public in 24 May 1933. The park was extended in 1934 and 1937.
