Full Description

<1> Minerva Heritage, 2011, Wincham Urban Village, Northwich, Cheshire: Heritage Assessment, P.93 (Client Report). SCH5492.

The Imperial Works (Salt) appears on the 1872 Ordnance Survey as a large group of buildings adjacent to the canal associated with a mineral rail line leading into the site from the south-west. The site is shown as derelict by 1910. During the walkover the ground was found to be very disturbed in this area, and whilst there was no clear evidence of structural or other remains present it is considered likely that below-ground remains may be present in this location.
