A war memorial commemorating nine men who died in the First World War. Plain stone obelisk on square plinth and two stepped base. Surrounded by railings wreath on front face. Crossed rifle and sword on front face of plinth.

Inscription:
Face 1: This monument is erected by / the parishioners and friends / in grateful memory of / the men from threapwood / who having responded / to their Country's call / fell in the Great War / 1914 – 1918.
Face 2: We are never going to forget / the debt we owe to those men / who saved our nation from / something worse than death. / Their warfare is accomplished and / they have gained their reward.
Face 3: Names including rank, year died, regiment, forename and age at death.

The log book for the Threapwood National School (as reproduced in this volume) records the following:

11/02/1919: Nine Threapwood boys were killed in the War. A Memorial stone is to be erected in the village.
09/01/1920: The children wrote an essay on the unveiling of the Memorial to the fallen Soldiers of the Village during the War…It was unveiled by General Gratton assisted by Col. H. McLean and Revd Plaskett.

It also mentions in previous entries two former pupils who received the Military Medal. One, William Manford, is commemorated on the memorial.
