A silver sixpence of Elizabeth I, c.AD 1573, as North number 1997 (see 2). Obverse description: Crowned bust left with rose behind head. Obverse inscription: ELIZABETH DG ANGL HIB REGINA. Reverse description: Long cross fourchee over Royal shield dividing legend 1573 above shield. Reverse inscription: POSVI DEV[]. Reverse mintmark: Ermine. Mint: London (Tower).
