Late Iron Age copper alloy terret, probably of first century BC to first century AD date. The terret is fragmentary, represented by the bar and lower part of the hoop on one side (with a surviving height of 27.5mm, a surviving width of 28.5mm and a weight of 9.0g). The terret has broken across the bar on one side and across the hoop on the other. The hoop was oval sectioned (with a width and thickness at the break of 5.1mm and 4.6mm respectively). The hoop gradually widens as it approaches the bar (producing a maximum width and thickness of 8.2mm and 9.5mm respectively). There is the suggestion of a moulding at the base of the hoop (7mm long), now heavily worn and corroded but possibly enhanced with a central groove. The bar is of pointed tanged form and is rectangular sectioned (12.7mm long and 3.6 -4.4mm thick) with a curved, concave top edge and appears to have broken near the hoop (with a surviving length of 11mm along the top edge). The surface is poorly preserved and has largely been lost with no decoration surviving on the remnants of the dark-brown patina. Elsewhere the surface has corroded grey-brown to green. The fragment suggests a terret of comparatively small form, with a suggested internal diameter of approximately 33mm.
