<2> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-616306 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.
A lead alloy probable vessel repair, (pot-mend), dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (AD43-1700). The object is circular in plan and domed. One face is flat while the opposite face is irregular and uneven. A circumferential groove divides each face along the edge. The object has a light brown patina. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken vessels. Without any remains of the pot it is impossible to date it more precisely.

A cast copper alloy vessel leg/foot probably dating from the Medieval period. The object is sub-rectangular in plan with straight sides narrowing towards the foot, the edges of which are rounded. It is D-shaped in cross-section. The terminal end measures 12.75mm in width and 3.91mm in thickness. At the opposite end the object measures 20.87mm in width and 6.33mm in thickness. The surface of the object has patches of a black deposit which is probably a sooty/carbon deposit. Crudely made cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from c.1250-1650 for serving and cooking.
<7> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-254745 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.
A cast copper alloy vessel leg/foot probably dating from the Medieval period. The object is sub-rectangular in plan with straight sides narrowing towards the foot, the edges of which are rounded. It is oval in cross-section with a central vertical rib. The terminal end measures 15.09mm in width and 5.68mm in thickness. At the opposite end the object measures 26.22mm in width and 7.56mm in thickness. There are adhering traces of an unidentified black substance, which is probably a sooty/carbon deposit, on each surface of the object. Cast cooking vessels seem to have come into use in the second half of the 13th century and to have continued at least until c. 1600 (see 8).

A cast copper alloy die probably dating to the Post-Medieval period, (AD1500 - 1700). The object is cuboid in shape, and of 'sevens' type, meaning the number 1 is opposite 6, 2 opposite 5 and 3 opposite 4, in a series in which the sum of opposite faces is always seven. Dice are frequently found and can be of any date from the Roman period through to the Post Medieval period (AD 43 to AD 1700). It has been suggested that apart from their usual role in games of chance, the clergy may have occasionally used them as they could identify 56 different virtues, one for each of the outcomes created by throwing three dice together, and therefore to help them choose between different courses of action (see 16).
