Full Description
<1> Various, 2012, Specialist reports from Seven Lows (Excavation Archive). SCH7333.
Archaeological investigation of Barrow 7, part of the Seven Lows Barrow cemetery complex, in 2012, recorded a substantial quantity of flint material indicating the presence of a lithic working site dating to the mesolithic. 289 worked flint fragments were recovered and most were considered to be knapping debris. The assemblage also contained a number of broken and intact flint flakes. One unusual feature of the assemblage was the presence of heat fracturing on many of the flakes. (Source 2 also summarises the findings of the 2012 excavation)
