Full Description
<1> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-7A5C85 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.
A cast copper alloy fragment from a dagger guard dating to the sixteenth century. The fragment is a semi-circular projection which stops the thumb from slipping onto the blade. The upper face is decorated with four grooves. It has a dark green patina and is in fair condition. Similar examples which can be found on the PAS database are SUR-E5B990 and LEIC-7E3373 (see 2).
