An incomplete copper alloy decorated crotal or rumbler bell dating from the seventeenth or eighteenth century. Around 25% of the bell is present, consisting of part of one half of the bell. The bell fragment is sub-half spherical in shape and concave on the reverse. Traces of a moulded design are still present, consisting of three capitals ISW, within a pentagonal cartouche. The horizontal mould casting line is present as a mid-rib around the bell. It measures 46.6 mm in length, 49.6 mm wide and 3.5 mm thick. It weighs 40.1 g. The bell fragment is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.
