Summary

Cuddington was noticed in Domesday as part of the estate of the baron of Malpas. It had land for 1 plough. After descending through the Suttons and the Breretons of Brereton the manor was alienated to Sir William Drake. A family of local name was seated here in the 14th century.

Full Description

Cuddington was noticed in Domesday as part of the estate of the baron of Malpas. It had land for 1 plough. After descending through the Suttons and the Breretons of Brereton the manor was alienated to Sir William Drake. A family of local name was seated here in the 14th century (1). Suggested as a deserted medieval village, but no evidence for this theory (2).
