Archaeological investigations to the north of Boughton Road in 2013 recorded evidence of a former water feature such as a brook or stream in trench 3.
The evidence comprised a highly organic and waterlogged deposit [303] with a substantial black silt layer [302] approximately 0.15m thick. The fill contained traces of post medieval pottery and a single leather shoe.
