Full Description
Part of a small 'but impressive' sandstone building with c 0.9m walls was recorded to the rear of the Owen Owen premises during archaeological evaluation in 1989 (1). The building appeared to be of a rectilinear plan, and was thought to have been part of the medieval Carmelite Friary complex. The trench is located at the eastern edge of the complex. The excavators concluded that the structure may represent a chapel or a porch attached to the church of the friary (1).
