Place name reference to a sheep pen - or pinfold - used to temporarily hold stray sheep. Probably late medieval to post medieval in origin.
During the construction of a garage at the corner of Pinfold Lane and Eaton Road, several sandstone foundations were noted that may represent the remains of this structure. (1)
