Along the east edge of Craft Field (formerly considered part of Edgars Field), backing onto Greenaway Street, are at least three artifical terraces facing west. They could be for cultivation, or drying nets, but there is another possibility. They may be where the sulphurous substance called Copperas Stone was extracted for processing at the Copperas Works in Hanbridge (see CHER 1147). It was extracted from three beds comprising 1388 square yards. It was described as being of exceedingly good quality and in high demand.
