Full Description
Geotechnical test pits excavated in front of the Forum Shopping Centre identified a layer in three nearby pits within the area of the large courtyard building at the centre of the fortress.

Archaeological investigations in the form of a watching brief of several window samples in front of the Forum Shopping Centre identified a layer containing fragments of Roman material. The evidence from window sample 14 identified a thick layer containing ceramic building material, mortar and sandstone fragments. Similar material was recorded in window sample 15b and 16 to the south.
