Summary

Archaeological investigations in the form of a watching brief of several small geotechnical pits along Hamilton Place recorded a deposit containing Roman sandstone fragments and ceramic building material. The trench was located in the area of the northern end of a barrack block of the First Cohort.

Geotechnical test pit excavated along Hamilton Place in the approximate area of the northern end of a barrack building of the First Cohort.

Archaeological investigations in the form of a watching brief of a small geotechnical pit along Hamilton Place recorded a layer at the base of trench 34 recorded deposits containing Roman sandstone fragments and ceramic building material.
