Full Description
Geotechnical test pit excavated along Hamilton Place in the approximate area of the northern end of a barrack building of the First Cohort.

Archaeological investigations in the form of a watching brief of a small geotechnical pit along Hamilton Place recorded a layer at the base of trench 33 containing quantities of Roman mortar, plaster, ceramic building material and sandstone fragments.
