Summary

Evidence of a possible Roman ditch was recorded during archaeological investigations at Nun's Field (now the Council Headquarters site) in 2004. The evidence comprised a linear cut on a north west to south east alignment containing a single sherd of Roman pottery dating to the second century.

Evidence of a possible Roman ditch was recorded during archaeological investigations at Nun's Field (now the Council Headquarters site) in 2004. The evidence comprised a linear cut 1.40m wide on a north west to south east alignment in trench 4 cut into the natural subsoil. The feature contained a single sherd of Roman pottery dating to the second century.
