Summary
Recent archaeological investigations in Eastgate Street in 2012 identified the remains of a probable Roman road surface. A series of road surfaces were encountered along with some surviving masonry that may represent a drain were recorded along with several fragments of Roman pottery.

Recent archaeological investigations in Eastgate Street in 2012 identified the remains of a probable Roman road surface. A series of road surfaces were encountered along with some surviving masonry that may represent a drain were recorded along with several fragments of Roman pottery. The investigations have yet to be published, however.
