Salvage recording on the east side of Newgate Street (No 27) recorded four sides of a sandstone cellar in the north east corner of the site.

The walls comprised large, regular, sandstone blocks. The cellar measured 3.40m north south and 2.35m east west and had been filled in with rubbish and quantities of compact organic material suggestive of a cess pit. Medieval finds were recovered below the floor of the cellar.
