A pit of late post medieval date was recorded during archaeological investigations to the rear of King's Buildings on King Street in 2002. The pit contained finds of a 18th to 19th century date.

A single pit of post medieval date was recorded during archaeological investigations to the rear of King's Buildings, King Street in 2002. The investigations recorded a large pit [Context 114] measuring 6.1m wide and 1.6m deep containing quantities of late 18th to 19th century pottery, clay pipe fragments and pieces of a ceramic sewer pipe.
