Summary

A Heinkel bomber crash landed in a field immediately adjacent to Border House Farm on the Welsh/English border on 14th August 1940. The bomber was brought down by a unit of three Spitfires from Hawarden airfield. The pilots survived the crash and served out the remainder of the war as prisoners of war first at Chester Castle and later in a P.O.W. camp in Canada.

Full Description

A Heinkel bomber crash landed in a field immediately adjacent to Border House Farm on the Welsh/English border on 14th August 1940. The bomber was brought down by a unit of three Spitfires from Hawarden airfield.
