Full Description
The General Post Office sorting office was built in 1912 with a facade and side wings in a classical Georgian style mainly from hard fire red brick with a buff coloured sandstone plinth. To the rear of the facade there is a plain two storey red brick wing extending south. The building was converted into a nightclub in the 1980s before its partial demolition in 2010. (1)
Although the main body of the building has been destroyed the front facade and two side wings have been preserved in the present structure (1)
