Monument record 11050 - Blue Girls School, Vicars Lane

A school for girls was established on Vicars Lane in 1872. It had been originally set up in 1720 by the cathedral authorities first in the basement of the Blue Coat Boys School on Upper Northgate Street but it was subsequently located in several places around the city before the purpose built school on Vicars Lane was added (5).
