Summary

Gilwern House was built in 1903 as a large detached private dwelling although it is now used as an officers mess. It is of red brick with sandstone dressings and a plain tile roof in the Renaissance Revival style. It is two storeys high with attics above with a L shaped plan. The building retains much of its original features although it is currently in need of repair.
