Summary

Brewer’s Hall was a medieval estate held by the serjeants of the Eastgate from 1286, it continued throughout the medieval period and into the 17th century. During the Civil War Parliamentary siege works were located nearby. The site remained in use throughout the post medieval period and a hall continued to be recorded in this location until the mid 20th century. Levaux’s map of 1745 records a country house with several associated buildings held by John Wright Esq. However by the mid 20th century the majority of these buildings had been demolished and the site is now part of Chester Golf Course.

Brewer’s Hall was a medieval estate held by the serjeants of the Eastgate from 1286, it continued throughout the medieval period and into the 17th century. During the Civil War Parliamentary siege works were located nearby.
