Summary

A rope walk is recorded at Edgar's Field on 19th century maps. It appears to comprise a long narrow path approximately 75m in length along the south bank of the River Dee. A rope walk was a long narrow lane or covered path where long strands of material were laid before being twisted into rope. Rope was essential for sailing ships and may have been a subsidiary industry of Chester's port.

A rope walk is recorded at Edgar's Field on 19th century maps. It appears to comprise a long narrow path approximately 75m in length along the south bank of the River Dee.

A small saw pit is also recorded immediately to the north
